Snehta Residency is happy to present 'On Uneven Ground', a show by current artists-in-residence Eleanor Lines, Jonas Fischer and Katherine MacBride. In 'On Uneven Ground', the artists will be showing their most recent work, the result of their stay in Athens. The city, its history and the experience of it are the common ground around which Fischer, Lines and MacBride all develop, each in their own way, their very personal artistic language. Surfaces and layers, fragments of the city, the past, the people, the stories and the today, all reveal an unexpected view of a city observed and are of primary interest in the work of the three artists.
Eleanor Lines, born 1985 in London, where she now lives and works. She received her BA in Fine Art Printmaking from the University of Brighton, UK, in 2008 and an MA in Fine Art Printmaking from the Royal College of Art, London, UK, in 2011. Eleanor has exhibited internationally, and her work is held in public and private collections. She is currently undertaking a public commission in central London on behalf of the Crown Estate which will be unveiled in 2017.
Jonas Fischer, born 1988 in Northern Germany. In 2015 he earned his BA in Documentary Photography from the University of Applied Sciences, Bielefeld with the Project DE FACTO which researches the construction of the Black Sea region Abkhazia´s national identity. He lives and works in Hamburg.
Katherine MacBride is from Glasgow, Scotland and now lives in Rotterdam, NL, where she is currently learning to listen to life in and out of her first language and in between others. Sometimes she also works as an art therapist. Katherine has recently worked on projects with Side Room, Amsterdam; OOR Records, Zürich; Foaming at the Mouth, Dublin; Jan Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht; Psykick Dancehall, Manchester; Transmission Gallery, Glasgow. She has upcoming residencies at CCA, Glasgow and Jan Van Eyck Academie, Maastricht.

Στην έκθεση αυτή που ξεκινά τη Δευτέρα 19 Δεκεμβρίου θα παρουσιαστεί το πιο πρόσφατο έργο των τριών καλλιτεχνών, αποτέλεσμα της διαμονής τους στην Αθήνα. Η πόλη, η ιστορία της αλλά και η εμπειρία του να ζει κανείς εδώ αποτελούν τον κοινό άξονα γύρω από τον οποίο κάθε ένας από τους καλλιτέχνες αναπτύσσει την προσωπική του γραφή. Οι επιφάνειες και οι λεπτομέρειες της πόλης, το παρελθόν, οι κάτοικοι και οι ιστορίες τους καθώς και το σήμερα είναι στοιχεία που απασχολούν το έργο των τριών καλλιτεχνών και αποκαλύπτουν μια απρόσμενη ανάγνωση της Αθήνας.
